From the first ring to a dry floor
Pipes fail at night as often as they fail at noon, so a person answers our line at every hour. You give us the address and describe what failed, and we send a plumber from the location closest to you (there are 10 around Orange County). The plumber shows up carrying valves, fittings and the tools to begin work there and then.
Some failures here come from the setting itself. Salt air eats at exposed copper, hose bibs and outdoor shower valves near the harbor until one gives way. Sand from a beach day can pack a floor drain or a laundry line until it backs up. Second homes and rentals that sit empty for weeks let a slow leak run with nobody there to hear it. Whatever the cause, the first step never changes: stop the water or the gas. Then you see what broke, read a written price for the repair, and decide.
Newport Beach's housing explains much of the rest. Census figures show 55 percent of the city's 45,185 housing units were built before 1980, and only 45 percent are detached single-family houses, so many calls come from condos, townhomes, duplexes and small apartment buildings. When units share a drain stack, a clog in one can come up in the tub next door, and the HOA may own part of that pipe. Planned neighborhoods from the 1960s and 1970s, Eastbluff among them, were built on concrete slabs, and that is where slab leaks start. Plenty of repairs are finished in a single visit. Sometimes the right move tonight is a temporary fix; when it is, we say so plainly and give you a separate written price for the lasting repair.
What every call comes with
- Plumbing work under C-36 license #1131308 (CSLB)
- 24-hour emergency response, every day of the year
- A written price you approve before work starts
- Repairs covered by our written workmanship warranty
When to call tonight instead of tomorrow
- Water hissing inside a wall or under the slab while nothing is running
- A burst pipe, a split supply hose or a fitting that is spraying
- Sewage coming up in a shower, tub, toilet or floor drain
- A gas smell indoors, or sewer odor rising from a drain
- A water heater leaking at the base, soaking the garage or banging
- No water at all from any faucet or shower in the house
You call, a person answers
Day or night, a person takes your address, hears what failed, and sends the plumber from our closest location.
The water stops first
The plumber shuts the right valve, keeps water away from floors and the unit below, and traces the failure to its source.
The price, on paper
Before the repair starts, the full cost is written down for you, and nothing happens until you agree to it.
Back on, checked and dried
With the repair done, we restore the water, watch each joint under pressure, and leave the area dry.
Why Newport Beach calls us in a plumbing emergency
We are based in Newport Beach and answer emergency calls all over Orange County. When a pipe lets go after dark, these are the three things that matter.
24-hour emergency response, nearest location
A person answers every call, at any hour, and we send a plumber out of the location nearest your street.
Repair parts ride along
Copper, PEX and PVC fittings, shutoff valves, supply hoses and wax rings are on the truck, so a night repair rarely waits for a store to open.
A written price first
You approve the price on paper before anything is cut or replaced, and a slow, stubborn repair does not raise it.
What sets the cost of an emergency repair in Newport Beach
Reach is the first factor. A leaking valve under a vanity takes little work to get at. A pipe buried in a finished wall, under a slab in Eastbluff, or in the ceiling between two condo units can mean opening drywall or concrete, and locating the exact spot takes time before the repair begins.
The pipe and the building come next. Galvanized supply pipe still turns up in older Corona del Mar and Newport Heights houses, and once one spot has rusted through, the pipe on either side is often too far gone to save. Roots in an old cast iron or clay lateral need different equipment from one stopped-up toilet, and when a shared drain stack is involved, the HOA may need to sign off first. Replacing a water heater or repairing a gas line also means a City of Newport Beach permit.
Whatever the hour, you receive a single price in writing for all of it, and no work begins until you say yes.

Answers to common emergency questions
Yes. On Christmas, on New Year's Day and on every day between, a person answers the emergency line, not a machine that takes a message for the morning.
Timing turns on where you live and how many other emergencies are open that night. We tell you on the call what to expect, and the plumber leaves from the location nearest you.
A night or weekend repair is priced the same way as a weekday one: in writing, and approved by you before any work. The time of the call does not change the bill.
While you wait, close the main shutoff. Look for it in the garage or on the front wall near a hose bib; in cottages on the narrow Peninsula and Balboa Island lots, it is often in the alley garage. The meter belongs to your water provider (the City of Newport Beach for most homes, Irvine Ranch Water District in Newport Coast), and your water bill shows which. In a condo, ask the HOA where the building shutoff is. If you smell gas, leave the house, call SoCalGas from outside, and then call us.
Yes, and the commercial side runs on the same rules: a restaurant near the harbor, a shop at Fashion Island or in Lido Village, or an apartment building where every unit drains into one stack, all with 24-hour emergency response.
